PADI Wreck Diving Course. MSDT Speciality Instructor. Master SCUBA Diver. Award-winning Course Director Dan Robinson.

Most of my IDC candidates want to go inside wrecks, caverns and caves, but do not yet have any overhead training.  As well as ANDI Cave training (which is not offered by PADI), I teach the PADI Wreck Diving Course and the PADI Cavern Diver Course at both the instructor and the student level.  I give my candidates the tools to teach the PADI Wreck Diving Course and the PADI Cavern Diver Course and keep them and their students safe.

To dive under ceilings, we must always follow a few simple rules, inc.

  • You must not breathe more than one-third of your gas on the way in, with one-third on the way out and the last third left for a real emergency.  Of course you may choose more prudence than this, but not less.
  • You must always have a line all the way from you to at least the exit.
  • You must take at least three lights with you.

In the PADI system, a recreational dive is one that, among other things.

  • Is not more than 40 linear metres from the surface, adding together depth and penetration.
  • Is not more than 40m deep.
  • Is not outside of the “light zone”, i.e. is lit by sunlight.
  • Is “no stop”, i.e. there are no decompression stops.

I also run my Tec Advanced Wreck Course at both instructor and diver levels.  This takes technical divers beyond these limits safely.

The PADI Wreck Diving Course may be done by PADI Adventure Divers or by those with certs. from other agencies that are similar to PADI Advanced Open Water Diver.  Students must be at least 15 years old.  The PADI Wreck Diving Course has four dives, with the first three outside a wreck and the last one either inside or outside.  The PADI Cavern Diver Course has four dives, with the first either inside or outside a cavern and the last three inside.  Both instructor courses have two dives.  To do the ANDI Intro to Cave Course, you need a cavern cert. first.

The Wreck Adventure Dive (PADI Wreck Diving Course Dive 1) is often done.

  • With Deep, Nav and any other two (often inc. Night) for AOW.
  • With any other two for Adventure Diver.
  • On its own with its KR (PADI Wreck Diver Course KR 1).

As a Wreck Instructor, you can then do Dives 2, 3, and 4 and KR 2 and give your students a cert. that makes it more likely that they can dive inside wrecks.  The instructor cert. counts for your MSDT and the student cert. counts for Master SCUBA Diver.

Each two months on the paradise Island of Malapascua, off Cebu, in the Philippines, award-winning DSAT TecRec Course Director Dan Robinson runs.

  • IDC with a 100 per cent. first time pass rate with no make-ups.
  • IDC Staff Course.
  • MSDT Prep.
  • Speciality Instructor Course for PHP 8,000.
  • Tec Basics Course right up through full Tec Trimix Instructor.

Programmes are also available on Koh Tao in Thailand or I will travel to wherever in the World you are, particularly to the UK or to Australia.  On Koh Tao I charge THB 20,000 for MSDT Prep and THB 4,000 per Specialty Instructor Course.  If you do the course with me, PADI will charge you just AUD 77 per Specialty App. in the year 2013.  If you do five at the same time in the Philippines, they will charge you for just four.  If you do five at the same time with me on Koh Tao, they will do your MSDT free of charge once you have your 25 certs.

I can build you a bespoke package, at instructor or diver level, say.

  • PADI Wreck Diver Course.
  • PADI Cavern Diver Course.
  • PADI Deep Diver Course.
  • PADI Enriched Air NitrOx Diver Course.
  • PADI Night Diver Course.
